The wedding happened under these skies. Dark clouds hung overhead all day, but they only looked, they didnt speak...
This rather beautiful gate led out into the fields...
Into a vast field of tall golden grass. The children all ran through it, some of the smaller ones actually disappeared...
Over one hundred wedding guests feasted...
Early in the morning, the fairy shoemaker had to decide which ribbons to wear in her shoes...
Choosing her dress was easy... but I then had to whip up to the workshop and snip and sew a matching clutch...
A suitable cardigan was unearthed from Mount washpile...
And lastly a rather smart Jaeger pinstripe jacket was selected to finish it all off. I found it in the Air Ambulance charity shop in Newton and it was its first outing... We saw fields of gold, juggling fire, heard sweet music from a stringed quartet, danced to a Ceilidh (skirt spun out of control at this point and Im afraid I might have shown my knickers... gasp...), feasted till we nearly popped, had ear drums assaulted by a fantastic punk rock band and finally... fireworks which must have been seen by the whole of England! I have no idea how it all happened in one day...
Congratulations to Rachel and Steve, and thank you so much for letting us share such a special day!
You look really nice in that dress with matching accessories, it looks like a wonderful day, wish I'd seen the fire performance and fireworks!
ReplyDeleteOh, that sounds like a PERFECT wedding! We got married in my mum and dad's backyard under the oak tree and had an Irish Band play. And I would have chosen the plum ribbons too!
