Latest woolly project...

Thursday 5 July 2012

Ive been a busy bee of an evening dreaming up new schemes!
This is the latest... Its going to be so pretty! After Ive stitched in a million tails its going to be ready for the shop! I LOVE the colours, very seaside-ish!

Thank goodness Polly is there to help and assist, and even more so, as she doesnt mind me sticking pins in her! You can purchase your own Polly from www.corsetlacedmannequins.co.uk where the maker / designer Lucy offers a wonderful selection! They are perfect for knitters I think!

In the workshop...
Much happening! Ive been working on revamping some of my patterns... a lengthy process to say the least! This will include me adding a larger size so the size range will span, 3 to 9 in future. Ive also rewritten part of the SIZING page to make the whole 'choosing your size' bit easier to understand. Fairysteps do not follow standard UK or US sizes, infact the whole measuring system follows more of the Japanese shoe sizing set up, whereby the measurement of the actual foot is used. This make total sense to me as a shoemaker and as a customer! Anyway... Ive explained this a bit better I think now!!

A new shoe style will soon be available. Its called NEVERLAND and once youve seen it you will see why!! It is so beautiful, and I know I say that about them all, but when you make something that comes out of your imagination and dreams and watch it become real it always seems to choke me up a bit! Its like meeting an old friend...

I can now say that Mr F returns to Fairysteps Land the day after tomorrow! Yippee!!!

Ive also started a new shawl which is rather nice to do in the odd moment when no ones watching...
Off to bed for me, Im a tired Fairy Shoemaker after too many late nights avoiding an empty bed...
