Meet DORIS... Yes I know she's just a drawing in a notebook, but she already has a pattern, and is already at the little heap of cut leather stage... in a beautiful Pillar box red.
Even the Fairy Shoemaker has to get in the queue for new shoes! Ive been booked in for a pair of lace ups for sometime now. Its all a bit last minute but I am going to try to squish these in before the holiday. I was inspired by tea rooms for these. Is she mad? No, (well, maybe, just a smidge...) but think of little paper doillies with their pretty scalloped punched paper edges and you can see where the inspiration came from.
I hope to have a picture to show you before the adventure begins...

ReplyDeleteThey look lovely. I have a pair of DMs (sorry, is that swearing)quite similar - they were a prototype at a nearby factory, but DM never went on to produce them. I'm glad I got the only pair- I call them my Miss Jean Brodies.
